Bing Accidentally Censor ‘Tank Man’ Photo

Recently a strange thing happened. If you searched on Bing, you couldn’t find images of “Tank Man,” the protester in Tiananmen Square on June 4, 1989. This happened on Bing across the world on the 32nd anniversary of the event. And then the images reappeared around the world the next day (except in China.)

Microsoft released a statement saying:

“This is due to an accidental human error and we are actively working to resolve this.”

I don’t know what to make of this. It seems hard to believe it happened accidentally and coincidentally on the anniversary of the event. But it is possible it was human error and not something else. Whatever it was, it was definitely bad PR for Bing.
